Coach Artie’s Spanish I and II classes had their first guest speaker come visit the 8th and 9th periods, Mr. Danny Pena. He is a retired DPS State Trooper. This 9 weeks each student is required to bring a guest speaker from our community to talk to us about, “Why it is Important To Be Bilingual.” We are looking forward to having many more community visitors in the coming days.

ECHS Parent Meetings
By popular demand. You asked for more information on the varying opportunities and responsibilities of YOUR Early College High School. You asked for more information to help you make the right college decision. You asked for more information on the most important aspects per grade level. THIS IS IT!
A meeting that is relevant, applicable, current...and made just for you.

Over the summer, a 100 Mile Challenge was offered by Coach Rendón to our Riviera ISD kids. This was to be completed over 5 weeks, running 4 days a week up to 5 miles per day. 13 athletes stepped up to the challenge! Together they ran at various locations such as DKP, Oso Bay Wildlife Preserve, Bishop City Park, TAMUK, CC Bayfront, and our RISD campus.
Romeo Gutierrez and Edwin Lopez completed the challenge!! The rest of the participants were able to complete anywhere from 30-80 miles, respectively. “Running in our South Texas heat is no easy feat, these runners are to be commended.”, said Coach Rendón.
Each runner was rewarded with a certificate for their efforts. Romeo and Edwin, along with their certificate of completion, earned a medal and a T-shirt.
