Fraternity of Scholars
Upper class members (11th and 12th graders) of the, newly coined, Kaufer ECHS Fraternity of Scholars met for breakfast today to discuss their Associates degree pathway. Breakfast was had and lively discussions took place between members of the class of 2024 and the class of 2025. Potential pitfalls, study ideas, and the rigor of specific classes were the main points discussion. The effort was coordinated by ECHS Director Mr. Arredondo, as an attempt to better prepare our dual credit college students for their upcoming senior year. District Counselor Brooke Hickey and Kaufer Principal Amber white helped to support this first-time event. The students concluded with a renewed focus and re-commitment to their Associates Degree goals.


Lady Hawks WIN!
The Lady Hawks rebound from their narrow Dec 19th loss, at Ben Bolt, with a resounding win on the Seahawks home court. M. Arredondo and C. Medlock combined for 38 of the Lady Hawks points in the one sided victory. The Lady Hawks improve to 5-3 in district 32-AA with a matchup vs Premont this Friday.


Calling all 6th through 11th graders! Is your student interested in being a cheerleader or mascot? Mandatory parents meeting on January 25, 2024 at 6 PM in Riviera Main Gym. Parents must attend meeting in order for students to tryout.


On Tuesday 1/23/24, the Riviera Seahawks boys basketball soared right through the Ben Bolt Badgers 62-42. The team's tenacious effort on the Defensive end was impeccable.
Two Seahawks earned Co-players of the game. CJ Silva 18 pts & Joshua Russek 20 pt.


Saturday night three of our Riviera FFA members competed in the Kleberg-Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show Queen’s Contest. These members proudly represented their club and community, and we could not be any prouder of how they did!

Abigail Alegria was named 1st Runner-Up of the 2024 Kleberg-Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show. She will fulfill her duties beginning this weekend at the Pee-Wee and Horse Shows. Be sure to congratulate her when you see her!

Kaufer BPA Advances to State
14 members of the Kaufer ECHS Chapter of Business Professionals of America was invited to attended the BPA Regional Conference hosted by Calallen High School on Friday.
The chapter, sponsored by ECHS Director Elias Arredondo and District Counselor Brooke Hickey, competed with over 200 BPA Members from 15 different school districts in our area.
ALL 14 of the members of the Kaufer Chapter advanced to state competition in their various disciplines. Congratulations Kaufer ECHS Business Professionals of America. Good luck at State Competition!

On Sunday, January 14th, two of our very own Seahawks played in an all-star game in San Antonio, Tx. Both young men stood out against some of the best football players across the whole state of Texas. Nathan Alegria finished the game with 6 tackles and an interception. Jacob Soto also had an interception along with three pass breakups. Both young men had amazing games. The staff, community, and teammates are extremely proud of these young men in all of their accomplishments.

After continued monitoring, Riviera ISD has decided it is in our students' best interest to delay school start time to begin at 9:30 am, Wednesday, January 17th. Kingsville bus will pick up at 8:30-8:45 am, Ricardo by 9:00 am, and Riviera route will begin at 7:45 am.
Reminder, school is CLOSED for Tuesday, January 16th.

Lady Seahawk Basketball improves to 3-3 in district play after a strong team effort at La Villa. The Lady Hawks had contributions from the entire road lineup.
The second half of the district schedule resumes on Friday, January 19th when they travel to Santa Maria.
The Lady Hawks remain in contention for a State Playoff birth in district 32-AA.
