Congratulations to Layla J. Cantu Kaufer Early College High School Seahawk Band Member for being a third time All Area Qualifier for ATSSB on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Layla is not only an outstanding flutist, she has shown her talent in other extra curricular activities and academics. We are all very proud of her many accomplishments.
On Friday 1/5/24 The boys Seahawks varsity basketball team bested the Freer bucs 48-45 in hard fought game that went down to the wire. From being down 13 pts in the 1st quarter, the Seahawks made a come back thanks to the tenacious Defense by Joshua Russek on Freer's top scorer holding him scoreless in the whole 2nd half of the game. Josh finished with 3 steals, 5 rebs & added 10 pts , & Matthew Mascorro's 22 pts, 10 rebs, & the game winning & one lay-up plus free throw. Both earning Co-players of the game!
The Boys are on a 3 game winning streak, Great job Seahawks!

On January 3, 2024, the Seahawks varsity boys' basketball defeated the Premont Cowboys 67-39 getting their first district win! The team played some of their best basketball of the season! The player of the game was CJ Silva dropping 21 pts & 5 rebs.

Parents,
Kleberg County Fire Department was in district. There was smoke (no fire) contained in one classroom at the High School. All students were safely evacuated, and the fire department has assessed the situation. The smoke was due to a short-circuit in an A/C Unit and has been contained.
We have resumed normal school operations however, we understand that some parents may want to pick up their child(ren) from school. If you would like, please contact or stop by your child's campus to sign them out for the day. There will be no attendance penalty for any child(ren) being picked up early.
