Weather Update...after continued monitoring, Riviera ISD has decided it is in our students' best interest to delay school start time to begin at 9:30 am today, Monday, January 15th. Kingsville bus will pick up at 8:30-8:45 am, Ricardo by 9:00 am, and Riviera route will begin at 7:45 am.

Lady Seahawk Basketball improves to 3-3 in district play after a strong team effort at La Villa. The Lady Hawks had contributions from the entire road lineup.
The second half of the district schedule resumes on Friday, January 19th when they travel to Santa Maria.
The Lady Hawks remain in contention for a State Playoff birth in district 32-AA.
The Islanders Splash Fun Run is a GREAT opportunity for grades 1-8.

On Friday January 12, 2024, the Riviera Seahawks defeated the La Villa Cardinals in the battle of the birds basketball game. It was a great team effort with most of the team scoring. One player stood out a tad more in the team effort. Matthew Mascorro filled up the stat sheet, with 22 pts 11 rebs 4 ast & 3 stls, granting him player of the game honors!
The Seahawks have now won 4 of their last 5 games & currently hold the 4th spot in the district standings.

Calling all 6th through 11th graders! Is your student interested in being a cheerleader or mascot? There will be a mandatory parent meeting on January 25, 2024, at 6 PM in Riviera's Main Gym. Parents must attend meeting in order for students to tryout.

Due to the anticipated inclement weather on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 school will be CLOSED.
There WILL be school on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Warmups will be allowed on Wednesday, January 17th. Regular dress code will resume on Thursday, January 18th.
On Wednesday, January 3rd The Riviera Seahawks hosted a Powder Puff Game consisting of the Seniors and Sophomores taking on the Juniors and Freshman. It was a hard fought battle between both teams. The Senior/Sophomore team won the coin toss and wasted no time getting into the endzone. The connection of Zoe Ochoa to Haley Alegria lead to 6 points. The Junior/Freshman team stepped up their defense and didn't allow another score. The lone score on the first drive ended up being the difference maker, with the Senior/Sophomores taking the win 6-0. Big thanks to Mrs. Leos, Mr. Umphres, Coach Amaya, and Mrs. White for setting up this awesome event.

Locally Elected, Community Connected - Texas School Board Appreciation Month
Big congratulations go out to two of our very own Riviera Seahawks. Nathan Alegria and Jacob Soto have been nominated to participate in the All-United States Bowl Game taking place in San Antonio, TX on January 14th.
Congratulations to Layla J. Cantu Kaufer Early College High School Seahawk Band Member for being a third time All Area Qualifier for ATSSB on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Layla is not only an outstanding flutist, she has shown her talent in other extra curricular activities and academics. We are all very proud of her many accomplishments.
On Friday 1/5/24 The boys Seahawks varsity basketball team bested the Freer bucs 48-45 in hard fought game that went down to the wire. From being down 13 pts in the 1st quarter, the Seahawks made a come back thanks to the tenacious Defense by Joshua Russek on Freer's top scorer holding him scoreless in the whole 2nd half of the game. Josh finished with 3 steals, 5 rebs & added 10 pts , & Matthew Mascorro's 22 pts, 10 rebs, & the game winning & one lay-up plus free throw. Both earning Co-players of the game!
The Boys are on a 3 game winning streak, Great job Seahawks!
