MANDATORY
Tuesday, March 25, the Riviera FFA Applied Agricultural Engineering Team competed at the Area X Applied Agricultural Engineering contest. The team consisted of Joey Gonzales, Baylen Tinsley, Brenden Solomon and Trustyn Cumberland. The team performed GMAW welding skills, Oxy-fuel cutting, layout procedures and completed an exam. Joey Gonzales was 4th place individual, with the team placing 4th in area and 1st in district.

On Thursday, March 13th, the DeLaPaz running Seahawks traveled to Premont to participate in the JH Cowboy Relays. The following are the results of all their accomplishments. We couldn’t be more proud of them all! Jason Olivarez, 5th place 2400m; Eliana Abrigo 3rd place Shot Put, 1st place discus, 6th 4x100m relay, 4th 100m, 4th 200m; Emilie Russek 5th 300H, 6th 4x100m relay; Madison Bumgarner; Juliana Reyes 2nd 1600m; Mason Johnson 6th 100m; Jamie Gonzalez 2nd High Jump, 4th 4x100m relay, 3rd 4x200m relay, 1st 400m; Jerrod Gallardo 5th 4x100m relay, 2nd 4x200m relay, 5th 200m; Angelina Lerma 6th 4x100m relay, 4th 100m, 1st 200m; Brynnon Ley 2nd 4x200m relay, 1st 400m, 1st 4x400m relay; Molly Johnson 8th 800m, 3rd 1600m; Joshua Ochoa 4th High Jump, 2nd 4x200m relay, 1st 300H, 1st 4x400m relay, 3rd 200m; Natasha Stewart 3rd 2400m. Next up for this group of kids will be their District Meet on Thursday, March 27th.

KECHS running Seahawks traveled to Premont to participate in the Cowboys Invitational on Wednesday, March 12th. THE event to watch was definitely the girls 4x400m relay. Comprised of Elizabeth Ivey, Olivia Ramos, Adelina Bell and Jayla Clack these girls fought to the very end; finishing ONE second behind SG! It was the type of race every TF fan looks forward to watching. Great job girls!! Girls Division results: Triple Jump, Katelina Rendon 3rd; 4x100m relay (Ramos, Clack, Ivey, Mica Gutierrez) 5th; 800m run, Lauren Sandoval 1st, Adelina Bell 4th; 400m Olivia Ramos, 3rd; 200m Jayla Clack 2nd; 1600m Lauren Sandoval 2nd, Adelina Bell 3rd; 4x400m relay 2nd. Boys Division results: 800m Roan Bell 1st; 4x200m relay (Ayden Lomas, Aaron Ramirez, Matt Mascorro, Liam Hinojosa) 4th; 400m Roan Bell 3rd; 200m Matt Mascorro 5th. Next up for these athletes will be the Soluna Riddel Invitational in Banquete on Thursday, March 20th.

Kaufer Early College High School had an amazing time at the history fair! Our students showcased their hard work and creativity, bringing history to life in such engaging ways. Our students went the extra mile for this event, and we are continuously amazed with their talents and effort. Riviera Independent School District is so proud of everyone for their dedication and the incredible projects they presented! World Down Syndrome Awareness Day celebration. Students at Nanny Elementary participate by listening to our School Counselor, Mrs. Houston, read a book about celebrating the differences of each child. Students were also treated by Mrs. Garza, our Music Teacher, leading us in a song celebrating each students' strengths.
